Canadian painter Steve Mitts showcases his collections of mixed media acrylic paintings.

Each piece is made with century old barn wood from Alberta grain silos, meticulously cut and arranged with either 20 year old canvas paintings from Steve’s earlier work, or painted directly onto the wood blocks.

The result is a unique mix of art and texture, sculpture and painting.
Acrylic Mixed Media Collage
These series range from large to small, a single image or a multi-panel story.

The woodcut paintings fit your space with a historical, rustic feel, and explore themes of life on the Alberta prairies and the Renaissance.
Canadian Paintings Rooted in Alberta History
Weathered and marked by time and labour, the recycled old wood is cut, shaped, and arranged not simply as supports but as compositional partners.

The wood frames, lifts, and intersects the painted surfaces, creating shallow reliefs where structure and image meet in dynamic tension.

Each cut and placement is intentional – a quiet dialogue between material history and spatial design.
