Ornamental Series
A New Renaissance

This series features original acrylic paintings on interlocking blocks of recycled century-old barn wood from Alberta grain silos.
The old wood is carved and shaped into expressive, decorative forms that interlock with the painted imagery.
Its contours define the overall silhouette of each piece, while the paint flows into the grain to create a unified blend of art and texture and sculptural form.
Mixed Media Collage
The intricate wood carvings and acrylic painting meld together into a beautiful mix of art and texture, creating interest and a focal point to your home or business.
As with a lot of Steve’s work, this series is solely neither painting nor sculpture – but a unique blend of art and texture that draws you in.

Canadian Paintings Rooted in Alberta History
By making use of recycled wood from hundred year old grain silos of the Alberta prairies, this series leans on the historical themes of the Renaissance as well as the history of the prairies in western Canada.
