This original landscape by Alberta artist Steve R. Mitts features a warm little landscape bordered with green hues found in the sky and within the water. It shows laborers in a field diligently working to bring in the harvest with a little village, complete with a tall church and cottages, tucked away in the trees awaiting their return. Mitts combines contempory structure with 16th Century Renaissance influences. Using a meticulous layering of acrylic washes and gels, he achieves a textured, stained glass finish. This piece is created on 100-year-old reclaimed grain bin wood, making the material as much a part of the story as the painting itself. Measures 14 x 10 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches.
