This original painting by Alberta artist Steve R. Mitts invites you to a private performance where nature is the only audience. Far from the city's rigid halls, four players harmonize in a clearing, their music as fleeting as the wind. The woven wood presentation mirrors the complexity of their song—intertwining individual notes into a single, grounded harmony that celebrates the enduring peace of the ancient woods. The composition uses a unique modular wood block design that creates a window-like perspective. Mitts combines contempory structure with 16th Century Renaissance influences. Using a meticulous layering of acrylic washes and gels, he achieves a textured, stained glass finish. This piece is created on 100-year-old reclaimed grain bin wood, making the material as much a part of the story as the painting itself. Measures 30 x 37 x 2 1/4 inches deep
