This original landscape by Alberta artist Steve R. Mitts features a wonderfully bright harvest painting, it is a scene commonly explored throughout Steve's career. In this work he displays bright yellow fields, which encompass virtually the entire painting, as the ochre tone flows into and over the wooden segments. His work combines contempory structure with 16th Century Renaissance influences. Using a meticulous layering of acrylic washes and gels, he achieves a textured, stained glass finish. This piece is created on 100-year-old reclaimed grain bin wood, making the material as much a part of the story as the painting itself. Measures 14 1/2 x 9 3/4 x 1 1/2 inches.
